Pour-over coffee setup

  1. Measure about 30 grams of coffee beans & grind into a coarse grain * The coarseness should resemble that of sea salt.

  2. Measure out 600 grams (20 oz) of water.

  3. Bring your water to boil.

  4. Assemble your filter & pour-over dripper. * We recommend wetting your filter with hot water before proceeding with brewing

  5. Add your coffee grounds to the filter & gently tap to level their surface.

  6. Bloom Pour: Slowly pour 60 grams of water in a circular motion for 15 seconds. You want to make sure all the grounds are saturated. Allow the coffee to bloom for an additional 30 seconds.

  7. Second Pour: Slowly pour about 90 additional grams of water in a circular motion for 45-65 seconds. The goal here is to sink all the grounds on the surface. * The second pour creates a gentle turbulence that “stirs” the coffee, allowing the water to evenly extract the grounds.

  8. Third Pour: As the mixture of water & coffee from the 2nd pour drops to the bottom of the filter, coming close to the level of the grounds, pour an additional 100 grams of water using the same slow & steady circular motion. This should take about 15-20 seconds.

  9. Final Pour: Once the water & coffee from the 3rd pour have dropped to the bottom of the filter, pour an additional 100 grams of water using the same steady, circular motion as before for about 20 seconds.
